Top Activist Hedge Funds just miss the $200B mark; Icahn, ValueAct and & Pershing Square Capital claim the top spots

The latest Top Activist Hedge Fund Manager list has been released, revealing that the top funds now manage $199 billion in equity assets. Twenty of the activist hedge funds on the list saw their assets increase by more than $100 million over the past quarter, driving their assets up by a combined $9.5 billion.

Leading the top gainers were JANA Partners, ValueAct Capital Management, and OrbiMed Advisors, which is also the highest ranked sector focused hedge fund manager to make the list. Samuel Isaly‘s OrbiMed, which is healthcare focused , reported assets of $11.4 billion, ranking it #5 on the list.

The top three spots on this quarter’s Top Activist Hedge Fund List are once again held by Carl Icahn’s Icahn Associates, Jeffrey Ubben’s ValueAct Capital Management and Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management
