Tang Capital Makes Takeover Bid for Northstar Neuroscience

Northstar Neuroscience (NASDAQ: NSTR) announced today that it had received an unsolicited takeover bid from Tang Capital Partners. Tang has proposed to buy the company at $2.25 per share, which is a 50% premium over its previous close. In the press release, the company announced that its “Board of Directors will review and consider the offer consistent with its fiduciary duties. The Company also announced that the Board has engaged Leerink Swann to assist in the evaluation of strategic alternatives.”
