Portfolio manager Louis Villa has left struggling Edoma Partners for greener pastures, joining U.S.-based SAC Capital in April as a partner. According to Reuters, Louis Villa, who previously managed an equity hedge fund for Talaris Capital, will work out of SAC Capital’s London office.

Edoma Partners, after a much heralded launch by former Goldman Sachs celebrated trader, Pierre-Henri Flamand, has struggled to meet high expectations underperforming the average event-driven hedge fund two years running. Meanwhile, $14 billion SAC Capital, run by industry icon Steve Cohen managed to return 8% to investors in 2011 when most equity long/short funds posted flat or negative returns.
