Sensing the return of volatility to financial assets, Miaodan Wu – “Dr. Wu” to industry insiders – is readying plans for a hedge fund launch later this year. According to Reuters, Miaodan Wu’s hedge fund, Bach Option, will focus on volatility, attempting to capture returns from the fluctuation of prices.

Volatility strategies in general have not performed well since the money easing policies of central banks have calmed the markets. Former Citigroup, Inc. executive, Henry Ondo, will join Miaodan Wu at Hong Kong headquartered Bach Option.
