|Pardus Capital Management has recently announced that the firm has recruited Dr. Lutz Stoeber to be senior analyst. Dr. Stoeber will focus on distressed debt investments in Western Europe and Germany in particular, and he brings “significant financial analysis, private equity and leveraged buyout experience, with particular expertise in chemicals, basic manufacturing and shipping” to the European team.|
“Among other opportunities, we have partnered with an established German shipping operator to bid on several hundred million Euros of distressed shipping assets,” stated Mr. Samii, explaining the important role Dr. Stoeber’s experience will play in the firm. “German banks are holding in excess of $100 billion of shipping loans that need to be worked out in some fashion, which makes this a very large and attractive market for us.”
