According to unnamed sources, ex-Nomura Holdings Inc. head of program trading, Nicholas Wells, is heading to Millennium Management LLC. As reported by Bloomberg News, the move is prompted by the recent restructuring of Nomura Holdings Inc’s operations outside of Japan as well as its plans to significantly reduce its global initiatives. While Nomura Holdings Inc. has been shrinking, Nicholas Wells’ new employer, Millennium Management LLC has been growing, nearly tripling its assets to more than $18 billion in the last three years. Millennium Management LLC, which has more than 140 trading teams, is also making room for two of his former Nomura Holdings Inc. junior colleagues.
