|In this week’s HedgeTracker Fund Spotlight, we look at three hedge fund managers that have recently been added to HedgeTracker’s Free Hedge Fund Directory. This week’s hedge funds all have strategies that focus on sustainable, green and/or clean-tech investing in publically-traded companies. The list includes: Generation Investment Management, Resolve Capital Partners and Craigmillar LLC.|
The first fund manager, Generation Investment Management, is also the most well-known, which is due largely to the fact that former US Vice-President Al Gore serves as the firm’s Chairman. While Mr. Gore is a key advocate of saving the environment, the firm’s other founder and Senior Principal David Blood is the firm’s key advocate for profitability. Generation Investment Management was founded in 2004 and now boasts approximately $5 billion in assets under management.
The next fund manager, Resolve Capital Partners, is Sustainability focused and was founded in January of this year by Andrew Springer. The firm’s flagship fund, the Resolve Eco Fund, is managed by Pamela Schwab who previously worked alongside Mr. Springer when they worked at Dalton Investments.
The final featured hedge fund manager is the Craigmillar LLC, which also focuses on clean technology and sustainability companies. The firm was founded in 2001 by Portfolio Manager Robert Preston and launched its first hedge fund in July of 2008.
All the funds mentioned in this update have launched sustainable, green and/or clean-tech hedge funds within the last year.
