|The Top Emerging Hedge Fund Managers now manage $98.1 billion in U.S. equity assets, having seen their equity assets fall by $7.1 billion during the most recent quarter. Only 39% of the hedge funds on the list saw their assets increase over the quarter. Leading the top gainers are Hosking Partners and Sachem Head Capital Management.|
This quarter’s Top Emerging Manager List is once again led by Soroban Capital, which stole away the top spot from Corvex Management. Long/short equity focused Soroban reported equity assets of $8.3 billion at the end of the quarter. Soroban is led by TPG-Axon alums Eric Mandelblatt, Gaurav Kapadia and Scott Friedman.
Keith Meister’s Corvex, which now holds the #2 spot on the list, had previously held onto the top spot for three out of the past four most recent quarters. Corvex reported managing assets of nearly $8 billion, having seen their assets fall by -11% Quarter-over-Quarter.
Rounding out the top three is quant specialist PDT Partners LLC. Peter Muller’s hedge fund reported equity assets of $4.5 billion, having seen its assets increase by an impressive 17% Q-O-Q.
