Duquesne Capital veteran Michael Perl forms Harbor Bridge Emerging Markets

Emerging Markets specialist Michael Perl has founded Harbor Bridge Emerging Markets and is looking to launch the firm’s flagship hedge fund sometime next month. Prior to founding Harbor Bridge, Mr. Perl was a partner at Stanley Druckenmiller’s Duquesne Capital Management where he managed a billion dollar portfolio for more than 5 years.

Harbor Bridge Emerging Markets’ founding team includes Daniel Altman who was most recently a senior investment analyst at Zweig-Dimenna Associates. Mr. Altman is a founding partner at Harbor Bridge and will serve as the hedge fund’s head of research. Prior to Zweig-Dimenna, Mr. Altman spent more than 10 years at Bear Stearns where he was a Senior Managing Director.

Before joining Duquesne Capital, Michael Perl was a portfolio manager at Sloan Robinson Investment and a portfolio manager at Morgan Stanley Investment Management where he oversaw Latin American investments.

Another Duquesne Capital alum, Sean Cullinan, recently launched global macro focused PointState Capital with approximately $5 billion in assets under management, making it one of the largest hedge fund launches ever.
