Citadel LLC, a hedge fund with $11 billion in assets, announced the hiring of Edwin Lin and Steven Goldberg for its global fixed income funds. According to Bloomberg News, Lin will focus on Canadian and global interest rate strategies, and Goldberg will manage derivative strategies for interest rates and foreign exchange markets. Both will report to Derek Kaufman, Citadel LLC’s head of global fixed income.

These hires are seen as Chicago-based Citadel LLC’s attempt at expanding its global fixed income unit after recent losses in its Wellington and Kensington funds, and key top-level departures.

Goldberg joins Citadel from Bank of America Corp (BAC), while Lin joins from Credit Suisse’s interest-rate trading team. Citadel LLC was founded by billionaire Ken Griffin in 1990.
