Caxton veteran’s Redux Research launches Matrix Redux hedge fund

Sudeep Singh’s Redux Research Ltd has recently launched the Matrix Redux hedge fund in partnership with UK-based Matrix Group. Chris Merry, the CEO of Matrix, commented on the launch that “We are delighted that Sudeep and his team are the latest managers to team up with our expanding hedge fund platform. With emerging markets proving to be the engine of the world’s growth, this latest venture could not be more timely.”

Mr. Singh, Founding Partner of Redux Research Ltd, brings over 16 years of experience in emerging markets. Previously, he was senior portfolio manager of emerging markets at Caxton Associates LLC, and served as Chief Investment Officer of Lotus Capital Partners. He has also worked at Sigma Capital, Chase Manhattan Bank in London, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Redux Research’s Chief Economist Giancarlo Perasso was the formerly the Global Head of Emerging Market Research at WestLB. While at WestLB, his global research focused on both external debt and local markets. Mr. Perasso is also a visiting professor at Italy’s Università Carlo Cattaneo in Castellanza.

Mike Ohr is Redux’s Portfolio Manager Tactical Macro and a former Credit Suisse Senior Marketer of Exotic and Flow Interest Rate Derivatives to major hedge funds, where he counseled clients on relative value and macro strategies. Mr. Ohr also co-headed Interest Rate Hedge Fund Sales at UBS with a focus on highly liquid strategies. Mr. Ohr “developed his investment methodologies as a proprietary trader at Merrill Lynch (New York), Bear Stearns (London) and Paloma Partners.”

Redux’s Sudeep Singh commented, “We are delighted to be joining forces with Matrix who will be supplying us with their considerable infrastructure of risk management and distribution whilst allowing me and my team to concentrate solely on running portfolios,” adding that “imminent fund launches will be very timely as there are currently tremendous investment opportunities within emerging markets over the coming years.”
