In a joint venture with Woori Absolute Partners and NewAlpha Asset Management, Tristan Edwards, formerly of Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP, is ready to launch a new Asian hedge fund on March 1st of this year. According to Bloomberg, the Mosaic Asset Management Pte, has raised around $100 million in the midst of a number of closures by start-up Asian hedge funds over the last year.

Tristan Edwards, who is joined by former Credit Suisse Group executive, Greg Laughlin will focus his investment strategy on short-term long/short trading in highly active markets. With the resources and experience of Woori Absolute Partners and NewAlpha Asset Management behind it, Mosaic Asset Management Pte may be better positioned to weather the difficult markets that have plagued other Asian hedge fund start-ups over the last few years.
