After 13 years with Baupost as co-portfolio manager, Herb Wagner is leaving to manage his own investments with plans to open his portfolio to outside investors. As reported by Bloomberg News, Herb Wagner joins Greg Coffey of Moore Capital Management LLC and Thomas Steyer of Farallon Capital Management LLC as the latest high profile hedge fund manager to exit the business.

The departure of Herb Wagner will reportedly not leave a void at Baupost as co-portfolio manager, Jim Mooney, will take over as the sole manager at the end of 2012.
