Finisterre Capital announced this week that it has appointed Bartosz Pawlolski as a portfolio manager for the firm’s sovereign debt fund. Finisterre Capital is an emerging market specialist hedge fund manager with $2.1B in assets that was founded in 2002 by CIO Paul Crean.

Prior to Finisterre, Pawlolski was at BNP Paribas, where he most recently served as the Global Head of Emerging Market Strategy, managing a global team of FX, rates and credit strategists. Before BNP, Pawlolski was an Emerging Market Strategist at TD Securities.

According to Finisterre Capital, Pawlolski “will work initially as an internal strategist looking at existing trades in order to optimise Finisterre’s portfolios to better deliver attractive risk adjusted returns. Progressively he will suggest new trades to the other portfolio managers, before receiving a capital allocation within the Sovereign Debt Fund. As part of Finisterre’s unrestricted investment philosophy, Mr. Pawlolski will not be constrained by geographic or product barriers, allowing him to seek out the most attractive global opportunities.”
